From the pages of Mr. Boston. Just because. I add a clementine instead of a maraschino cherry to mine today.
2 ounce(s) Rye or bourbon whisky (Bulliet Rye or Bourbon, my choice)
1/2 Ounce(s) Sweet Vermouth
1 Dash(es) Angostura Bitters
1 Maraschino cherry
Stir with ice and strain in to chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry. Serve in a cocktail glass.
**you really only shake anything that has citrus or jams and such. You can also roll a Manhattan to give the drink a slightly different texture. I stir mine.
