

This recipe from Epicurious. You can also add Brandy or Cognac and a black maraschino cherry to make this a most traditional cocktail. Use any champagne you like. I try this with two split size bottles to see what, if any real difference in taste an dover all flavor profile may be. I use Moet Chandon and Verve Yellow Label. I prefer the lemon twist.
***The non-alcoholic version can be made with ginger beer or club soda. All are refreshing and excite the tastebuds.
YIELD: Makes 1 serving
INGREDIENTS
- 1 sugar cube
- Angostura bitters
- Champagne
- Lemon or orange twist, for garnish
PREPARATION
- Soak the sugar cube in Angostura bitters and drop into a champagne flute. Top with a luxury champagne or a sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon or orange twist.
