With magic of summer coming to an end and football season around the corner, my brain immediately goes to snacks.  What snack will prevail for game day?

In South Carolina, there is a snack called “TRASH”.  I would snack on this alongside Crudites as a child. Not sure how this name came to be.  If you are reading this and you know the answer to the origin, please leave a comment below.  If you are a “taster while making”  like I am, leave a comment below on what willpower it took for you to wait two whole days before consuming all of the little crunchy highly addictive savories.  The two days are worth the wait and even more addicting.  Happy game day snacking!

**I have made this recipe as the card reads and I have used garlic olive oil from Trader Joe’s.  You can also make your own garlic oil.  Or if you like lots of garlic then use both the salt and the oil.  My Father adds pecans to his mix.  Make it once and then play around with additional ingredients.


2-3 boxes of Oysteretts


1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

1  package of Ranch Dressing Mix (not buttermilk)

1 cup of oil ( I use olive oil or garlic olive oil and no garlic salt)

Mix THE MIX together and pour over oysterettes in that have been placed in an air-tight container.  Leave for two days on the counter in the container.  Shake often for the two days.
