Chunky Peanut Butter, Leeks, Shallots Sauce…

What’s important to know is that I didn’t measure. What is also important to know is the combination of these ingredients are good together. Really good. This is my Christopher Columbus discovering America moment. I am sure some far more experienced person does this already.  All I have to say is delicious and I only tried the little I made on a piece of cold lavash.

Ingredients:  Seen in the fridge drawer. and Water.  I also used water.  Brown sugar, Roasted garlic tomato sauce from Whole Foods, Long grain pepper, shallots sea salt, portable mushrooms, leeks, soy sauce, peanut butter and a little butter and that’s it.  Almost the kitchen sink.


In a pot, I used Le Creuset.  One pot type of night and sauce, seemingly.

Leeks, shallots and butter first.  Well, butter, then leeks and shallots and more butter.  Then mushrooms.  Chopped.  Doesn’t matter if they are crowded.  Soy sauce.  Brown sugar. Maybe a teaspoon.  Water. Salt and pepper.  A teaspoon of chia flax seed peanut butter from Trader Joe’s.  Bring to a bubble and simmer.  Oh and somewhere I add a tablespoon or so of the tomato garlic sauce from Whole Foods.  Yep, that’s it.  Delicious. Filling. Chunky savory sauce that I couldn’t say I loved another more I loved it so much.  Maybe next time I’ll blend after cooking I’ll blend the food processor.
